Start with three different products
The selected records are a capped toothpaste tube, a counted edible dental-chew bag and a liquid water-additive bottle. Their prices can share a purchase ledger, but their contents and instructions are not interchangeable. A lower price per container cannot tell you which format belongs in an individual dog’s care. This site makes a shopping comparison, not a treatment plan.
Keep the exact package unit visible
The reviewed Petsmile London Broil Large tube shows 4.2oz 119g. Greenies Original Teenie is a 12oz 340g bag marked 43count. The selected TropiClean catalog variant is a single 33.8oz liquid bottle, with a size shorthand difference in a promotional front image. These are separate units; mass ounces are not fluid ounces, and a chew count is not a tube’s number of applications.
Read source claims by scope
The VOHC original list has plaque for Petsmile Professional Pet Toothpaste, plaque and tartar for Canine Greenies five sizes, and plaque for the named TropiClean Fresh Breath Dental Water Additive for Dogs. Those registry fields do not authorize swapping one format for another, extend to every brand product or establish suitability for a particular animal.
Use an honest buying condition
If you are replacing an exact product already selected with your veterinarian, preserve its recipe, size and current label before looking at a price. If you are choosing a format for a new concern, ask the appropriate veterinary professional rather than let a calculator choose from dollars or generic marketing. The tools deliberately do not accept dental symptoms, body weight or daily dose inputs.
Treat a changed format as a new record
A water additive does not become a cheap alternative to toothpaste because both mention plaque. A bag of edible chews also has food and chewing restrictions that a tube does not answer. Keep those differences visible so a reorder list cannot silently turn a supply purchase into an unsupported clinical recommendation.
A replacement request needs a format
If a household list says only “dental product,” a purchaser may return with a chew bag when the intended reorder was a toothpaste tube. The word dental does not define the purchasing unit or intended use. Add the exact product line, format, flavor and size before comparing prices. If changing formats is intentional, treat it as a new selection requiring its own label and appropriate advice. The site does not claim that buying two lower-priced formats recreates the function or instructions of another product.
